Pastoral Care Team

The Pastoral Care Team are a small group of volunteers who try and support people in a variety of situations by offering a listening ear, a helping hand or by providing useful information.

Where do they go: They may be able to visit someone at home if the live in the parish of St Margaret’s, or meet at the Church or go for a walk. Where appropriate they may visit someone in hospital or living in a residential home or sheltered housing community.

Who do they visit: There are always more people to visit than there are volunteers available but we try to visit those who cannot leave their home, those who are unwell, recently bereaved, new to the area, caring for others or those who are alone.

Can you visit them: The church community often has pastoral team members present during church services, events and lunches and they can help you to meet new people.

Our Pastoral team know their limitations so may refer individuals to other agencies when specialist help is needed beyond their scope. All team members will carry a photo identification card and are aware of the need for confidentiality and of their responsibility under the Data Protection Act and Safeguarding Act

To arrange a visit or for any other pastoral concerns, just email the Pastoral Care Team Leader, Maggie Conder on pastoralteam.stmagsips@gmail.com.
