The Band
The Band is a classical chamber orchestra, drawn from the instrumental talent available within the church membership and featuring a range of instruments. Its repertoire spans hymns and songs from a range of eras, providing an alternative to organ accompaniment and enriching the musical variety within worship.
The Band leads the worship at the 9.30am Rise and Shine service on the 4th Sunday of each month and at the 11am service when there is a 5th Sunday in the month.
The Band’s repertoire extends across a wide range of music from short classical pieces, through traditional hymns to modern worship songs.
It is open to all and it provides an opportunity for people of all ages to participate in a small orchestra where enjoyment takes priority over perfection! So whether you're a young person learning to play an instrument, or an older person who's a bit rusty with a rarely played clarinet hidden in the attic ...come and join us - you’ll be most welcome!
It’s only once (or occasionally twice) a month with a short practice before the service.
